Collaborations with Gather

Collaboration is the reason Gather exists. Founders and friends Kim McCollum and Angela Kelly wanted to build a space where their love of combining handweaving and sewing could flourish. Nobody crafts alone: we rely on the knowledge of the makers who came before us, and so often we depend on each other for company and encouragement. When we craft in the community, we benefit from each other’s expertise and creativity.

As Gather grows, we keep finding new points of connection with other weavers as well as with makers from other craft traditions. We are part of a thriving scene of makers in Edmonton, and we care deeply about giving back to the community that has given so much to us. This Spring, we decided to be extra intentional about finding new collaborators and seeing what creativity would result from fresh combinations. We hope that you’re just as thrilled with the results as we are!
