"A Tactile Notion" brings a handwoven swatch, associated weaving draft, and linocut print quarterly to your doorstep over the next 12 months.
When you have a handwoven swatch, you can look closely, and 'read' the story of the weft thread as it makes its way across the warp.
The first of four volumes is an overshot swatch and a linocut print of a reader - weaver.
The second volume is a doubleweave swatch and a double sided linocut print of an outdoor scene.
The third volume is a rag rug swatch and a set of usable linocuts.
The fourth and final volume is a cozy scarf swatch and mountainous winter linocut print.
Brianna puts everything together in a hand printed letterpress package for safekeeping.
Each volume contains:
- A handwoven sample by visual artist and co-owner of Gather Kim McCollum.
- A linocut print by talented printmaker Brianna Tosswill of Penrose Press
- Weaving draft and materials information
- A quote / small written component
Packages will be mailed out quarterly over the course of 2020/2021. Mail out dates:
1: December 11, 2020 (arrival before Dec 25 for Canada)
2: March 19, 2021
3: June 18, 2021
4: September 17, 2021
