After dabbling in knitting and doing a deep dive into embroidery, I found my home in weaving. In my first year as a weaver, I completed nearly 52 projects! I continue to explore new tools and techniques, but keep coming back to my trusty rigid heddle loom. I’ve used one to weave everything from scarves and table runners to altar cloths and a hijab. I love sharing my enthusiasm about fibre arts.
About this Workshop: Want to dip your toe into the weaving world? Come weave a scarf on a simple, accessible rigid heddle loom. No prior weaving experience is required. You will leave this workshop with a smooshy, cozy scarf, as well as a basic understanding of weaving terms and how to weave plain weave. Rigid heddle looms are popular thanks to their ease of set-up and use, as well as their small size and portability. Come try one out!
For Saturday evening you will be able to take the loom home to continue your weaving. On Sunday you will be removing the weaving from the loom and wet finishing.
