In this workshop, participants learn the basics of patchwork and hand stitching while creating their own patchwork throw. There has been a recent resurgence in artists and makers using piecework/patchwork as a conceptual practice, exploring ideas about creative re-use and embracing the act of slow making.
This workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn a craft that has been done for thousands of years. In this workshop, we re-examinine the age old technique of piecing together small fabric scraps to create something new.
Because this workshop involves a large amount of hand stitching, it is also a great opportunity to get to know other makers and share ideas.
Participants will have the opportunity to choose from several designs, incorporating their own ideas and inspirations.
