In this one day workshop participants will learn the basics of using a sewing machine.  Dani will take participants step by step through the process of sewing the Gather Stowaway Tote. This project is designed and tested in our studio. The Stowaway Tote is great for everyday use and also makes a great gift!


Who is this class for?

Adults who want to learn the basic skills to sew on their own. This class is for total beginners and people who want to refresh their skills.

  • What types of patterns and resources are best for beginners
  • How to set up and thread a sewing machine
  • How to trouble shoot common threading problems
  • When to use a variety of seam allowances
  • How to use a variety of materials
  • How to create a lining and use webbing straps
  • How to create a boxed bottom tote
