Summer & Winter Table Runner
It’s amazing what complex designs you can build from the most basic shapes. Inspired by the work of local weaver Conchita Rico, this table runner uses simple blocks of purple and white to create a mesmerizing geometric design.
The blocks of colour are a beautiful example of Summer & Winter, a style of weaving that uses two blocks of threading to create areas of light and dark. A two-block weave may sound simple, but the outcome is anything but! This intermediate project provides an excellent introduction to block weaves for a weaver looking for that “next step” beyond twill.
This kit creates one 13" x 35" runner.
