The warp is a beautiful gradient from light to dark with a weft of your choosing.
100% wool grown + spun on treaty 6, 7 and 8 territory in Alberta. Worsted weight, 2 ply.
Gather has been working in collaboration with local wool and dye expert Kalea Turner-Beckman, local farmers, and Gather weaver Shanon Nelson to bring you a line of blanket wool designed specifically for weavers. This is a project that has been over a year in the making.
Parkland Blanket Wool has been extensively woven and sampled in our studio. When you weave with Parkland Blanket Wool, you are joining us in this sustainable project. With your support, we aim to offer you a new local weaving wool each year.
To use this kit you will need access to a 4 shaft loom with a weaving width of 36" and an 8 dent reed.
This Kit Includes:
- Everything you need to create one Parkland Blanket (approx 27" wide and 60" long after washing)
- 6 skeins (two of each yarrow, silver berry and tamarack park)
- 1 cone of your choice of Yarrow (cream), Silver Berry (light grey), or Tamarack Bark (medium grey).
