In this five week workshop you will learn four fundamental weave structures while creating a series of sampler gamps.

Dates & Times:

Five consecutive Sundays from 12pm-4pm

*End times are approximate. We like everyone to have the opportunity to go home with a finished product.

Instructor: Kim McCollum

About this workshop:

This is a round robin style workshop where each student weaves on four different looms to create a series of samples to take home and refer to for future projects. Next, participants can choose their favourite design from the sampling and design a project around it to weave following the workshop with the support of the instructor.

This workshop was created to help weavers improve their ability to customize their weaving and feel confident building their own drafts. Learning to read and alter drafts allows you to go beyond the pattern and make cloth that is totally your own.

Skill Level:

Advanced beginner. You must have taken a beginner workshop with us (or equivalent)

We will be covering the following techniques:

-Techniques for weaving colour and weave, twill, raanu rugs, and overshot.

-How to use a weaving sample to design a project

-How to keep records of your samples

-Tips for weaving on floor looms and table looms
