In this weekend workshop you will create a unique scarf using a rigid heddle style loom!

About this Workshop:
Want to dip your toe into the weaving world? Come weave a scarf on a simple, accessible rigid heddle loom. No prior weaving experience is required. You will leave this workshop with a classic, cozy scarf, as well as a basic understanding of weaving terms and how to weave plain weave. Rigid heddle looms are popular thanks to their ease of set-up and use, as well as their small size and portability. Come try one out!


We will be covering the following techniques:

  • Warping a rigid heddle loom
  • Sleying the reed
  • Weaving a scarf
  • Wet finishing & adding fringe 


Workshop Materials & Equipment: 

  • You can borrow one of our rigid heddle looms or you can bring your own rigid heddle loom!
  • All materials are provided for this workshop. You will have your choice of colours in 4/8 cotton.
