This session was so popular we've decided to offer the recorded version for those who are interested but were not able to attend the live session.

Join us for a fun and informative workshop on warping using a sectional warp beam! This is a topic we get asked about all the time. Many weavers are curious about sectional beams–how they work, why they’re more efficient to dress, and what kind of gear you need to make one work. In this session, we will cover the nuts and bolts of sectional beaming and discuss its practical uses.  Because sectional beams are particularly useful for making long warps, we will also discuss how to plan, track, and execute long warps for runs of multiple towels or scarves. We will de-mystify production weaving: the practice of weaving efficiently for sale.

We'll start by reviewing the basics of sectional beaming, including parts, installation, and costs. We'll also discuss different tools that can be used, from spool racks and tension boxes to warping squares. We will talk about how to calculate yarn needs and how to use yarn efficiently.

Next, we will talk about design considerations and constraints with sectional beaming. After we’ve wrapped up beaming, we will talk through how to track, measure and execute long warps with multiple items.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have a deeper understanding of production weaving and whether sectional beaming is something you want to try with your own loom.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who has basic loom dressing experience, whether you're a newer weaver or an experienced weaver looking to expand your skills.

Once you place your order you will be sent the link and password to the video. Please allow us 2 business days to send you the link.
