I’m excited to finally be able to offer a new set of rug patterns! Mila and I have been working on these a long time now and are finally organized enough to put them out in the world. We were almost ready about a month ago and then we decided that the patterns would really benefit from a video component. At some point we will professionally film a rug weaving course but in the meantime we made a simple but useful iphone video that we will include with both of these new patterns. There is just something about seeing a project being woven that clarifies things so much better than words.
Yesterday as we were photographing the rugs, Bri snagged this photo of my daughter Hayden and I enjoying a yogurt snack at the studio. Daycare was closed because of poor air quality (sad) but it ended up being a net win for Hayden as she was spoiled rotten with attention from Bri and Mila reading books and making yarn crafts. She’s got just a few weeks left to enjoy all this 1:1 attention before her little brother comes along so I’m glad she is soaking it all in.

The Studio Runner

Northern Range Wool

We specifically recommend Northern Range Wool for rug weaving because of its grist, ability to be packed snug in the weft, and colour range. This 100% wool is made in Canada, offering a perfect balance of softness, strength, and durability for your rug weaving projects.
We’ve used NRW for all of the patterns you see here as well as our rug patterns released earlier this year.
