Saturday August 16

9am-3pm

lunch provided

About this Event:

Join us on Saturday August 16 for some sample weaving shenanigans! We will have 8 looms warped each with different weave structures from the Modified Twill chapter of Marguerite Porter Davison’s A Handweaver's Pattern Book. As you may have heard, we are reweaving all of the drafts in this book!

There are a whole heck of a lot of them (379 threadings most with multiple treadlings to be exact). So we need your help!  We will be ordering lunch for everyone and sharing some behind the scenes details about this project. You’ll also have a chance to see the samples that we’ve woven to-date.

The samples woven for the book project will stay at the studio.

Anyone who completes a full threading will be included in the book credits when we complete our project. Some samples will be shared in the book, others shared online. Time permitting you are welcome to weave yourself a sample too!

Please register if:

-You have basic 4 shaft weaving experience

-You can read a basic 4 shaft weaving draft

-You are OK with frenzy-style weaving (it might get a little chaotic in here!)

Materials & Equipment:

4 shaft looms will be dressed and ready to weave. You don't need to bring anything except optionally: water bottle, snack, indoor shoes
