Spring Cleaning: Fresh Yarns, Kits & Tools

Knock on wood… it looks like winter (and snow) might be almost over. For those in Edmonton don’t look at the forecast for today 😣

The official first day of spring isn’t until March 20th but I’m ready to declare it. As the snow melts here in Edmonton, the studio is buzzing with bright projects fresh off the loom. The energy is light and fun and colourful.

Spring is a great time to start adding fresh pops of colour in your projects. Gone are the heavy wools of winter and in are some lighter cottons and linens. Just finished your spring cleaning? Maybe you’ve created some room for that new bobbin winder you’ve had your eye on. Has your winter stash dwindled? Maybe it’s time to stock back up on some Maurice Brassard yarns. We’re well stocked here in the studio for whatever you’re in the mood for.

Perfect for Spring: Gist Yarn

The beautiful colour palette of Gist Yarn makes it the perfect choice for spring. These yarns are designed for weaving and are produced with 100% natural fibers.

Check out Mallo for gorgeous thick and thin cotton slub, Duet for beautiful textured cottolin, and Beam for high-quality organic cotton.

Sorbet Tea Towels Kit

Inspired by tubs of sorbet on a hot day (or a sunny spring day after a long winter 😎), these tea towels are a fun pop of color to add to the kitchen. This subdued pastel palette pairs refreshing minty greens with warm peach, blush, and a pop of yellow. The natural backdrop allows these hues to shine.

Perfect for beginners and advanced weavers, each kit contains enough yarn to make 4 unique tea towels with plenty of leftover yarn. This tea towel kit is also available in Apricot, Lemongrass, and Sour Cherry.

Spring Cleaning in the Studio

Speaking of spring cleaning, we did a little bit of spring cleaning ourselves in the studio this week. As we make room for some new projects we’ve added new items to the sale section. Once they’re gone they’re gone!

Back in Stock!

We absolutely love the Fiber Artist Supply bobbin winders. They make short work of winding bobbins while adding a beautiful touch to any weaving studio. We also currently have both Leclerc manual and electric bobbin winders in stock.

Interested in additional storage options for your weaving supplies? We carry Leclerc
Bobbin & Cone HoldersBobbin Racks, and Holds-Alls.

We just got in a HUGE shipment of Maurice Brassard yarn. Yarn stash running low after a winter hibernation? Need 8 cones of Vert Emeraude for that sweet green blanket you are making? Now is the time to stock up!
